The Area – Woodley Park
The Woodley Park neighborhood is home to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park and a number of restaurants and other shops. It is a mostly residential neighborhood served by the main thoroughfare of Connecticut Avenue.
The neighborhood is also served by the Metro, DC’s subway system, with the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan station being located at the corner of the Wardman Park’s property. The station is on Metro’s Red Line and is fully accessible, as are all Metro stations and trains. Near the Metro station there is a bus stop served by local buses and the DC Circulator. For more information on the Metro and local buses in Woodley Park, visit Metro’s website.
We have two local guides. One covers houses of worship, and the other covers restaurants.
Nearby neighborhoods include Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, and Cleveland Park, each with their own restaurants, shops, and historic sites. The map below highlights some restaurants, shops, and other sites in these neighborhoods and across DC.
