What, where, and when is Worldcon?
The 2021 World Science Fiction Convention, DisCon III, is being held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, Washington, DC from December 15-19, 2021. In addition to hosting an in-person convention DisCon III is pleased to host a Creator’s Alley as part of the presentation of this convention.
What is a Creator’s Alley?
The DisCon III Creator’s Alley will consist of ½ table spaces (tables are 6’ x 2.5’ with 2 chairs) in a row of tables in the Dealers Room for those who wish to show off and sell their self-created wares. This includes authors, artists, and crafters. Any merchandise sold must be in line with the items allowed for sale in the DisCon III Dealers Room Please check that FAQ or email dealers@discon3.org if you have questions.
What does this cost?
Nothing. You MUST be an attending member of DisCon III in order to participate in Creator’s Alley.
Why should I want to be in Creator’s Alley as opposed to the Dealer Room or Art Show?
Creator’s Alley is provided as a place for those who wish to show off and/or sell their work directly to attendees without making a full convention commitment to doing so. This is a place where drawing sketches, taking commissions, talking to publishers and meeting fans are all encouraged!
What do I need to participate in the DisCcon III Creator’s Alley?
Besides an attending membership to DisCcon III everything a creator offers for sale in Creator’s Alley must be the work of the creator(s) at the table. No proxy sales are permitted.
When do applications close and when do acceptances go out?
We will accept applications until 12/05/21; however, we may run out of space before that time. If so, later applicants will be invited to join our wait list. Any cancellations will be filled from the waitlist in order and by type of merchandise. Acceptances will go as applications are approved (this includes photo submissions).
